
🍎 With two boisterous kids bouncing around the house, David (name changed to protect his privacy) often found himself reaching for the nearest chocolate bar just to keep up. It’s a story I’ve seen often, and I’m grateful I was able to join David on his journey to change this.
David, like many dads, was trying his best. He tried every diet under the sun and crammed exercise into his already packed day, but his weight didn’t budge. He felt defeated. He’d fallen into the trap of thinking he’d tried everything and knew everything, but his body told a different tale.
🥗 Our work together began with the ‘Foundation Stage’, breaking down the myths and clarifying what his body truly required. This wasn’t a punishing regime, but an empathetic understanding of his body’s needs. From nutrition to the science of digestion (how the food we eat becomes energy for our bodies), we covered it all in a way a nine-year-old could grasp!
Next, we embarked on the ‘Transformation Stage’. We focused on forming an intimate bond with his body’s signals. Together, we deciphered the language of cravings, distinguishing between genuine hunger and emotional eating.
As we journeyed to the ‘Consistency Stage’, David learned to weave his newfound knowledge into his everyday routine. A handful of almonds replaced the chocolate bar, a quick game of tag with the kids served as his exercise. Small, manageable changes that became second nature.
