From Roller Coaster to Triumph

By Coach Sharm and Team

Have you ever met someone who found victory in going slow?

That’s the story of Grace (not her real name, but we’ll stick with it for privacy), one of my amazing clients, who taught me a lesson in patience and resilience.

Grace’s story is a bit like a roller coaster ride. She was always on the move, juggling lots of things all at once. However, her health was trailing behind. Her cholesterol numbers were up, and her belly was growing bigger.

She wanted to change, but didn’t know how to start.

Now, many of us believe that to get better, we must always move fast. But that’s not the truth. Not always. Sometimes, slowing down can help us win the race.

So, for Grace, the first thing we did was pause and think. We talked about why she wanted to be fit, what things were standing in her way, and how she could stay strong even when things got tough. This was her FOUNDATION.

Next, we focused on the food she ate. She discovered all about tasty foods that make her feel full, yet happy. She learned how her body burns this food for energy. We called this her TRANSFORMATION.

Finally, we made sure she moved her body a little every day. Just 10 minutes of exercise! We also focused on creating good habits and finding new ways to keep getting better. This was her CONSISTENCY. All of these are parts of what I fondly call my Body Thrive Academy.

And if you’re feeling stuck in your health journey, here are five simple things you can do:

  • Know that it’s perfectly fine to slow down.
  • Think about your long-term health, not just quick results.
  • Don’t be afraid to ask for help. You’re not alone in this.
  • Learn about your body and what it needs to be healthy.
  • Keep trying. Even if things don’t go right, always remember to stand back up!

The outcome? Grace did it! Her cholesterol is in the normal range now, and her tummy is flat. But, the real victory?

She’s living a healthier, happier life, all at her own pace.

Grace’s journey is a true inspiration. It’s proof that slowing down doesn’t mean giving up. It means making space for meaningful progress.

This story inspires me every day, and I hope it inspires you too. Because, in the end, the real success is in becoming the best version of yourself, one step at a time. ❤️
